The six-area scope and leash rules
Which off-leash areas does the Township list?
The six named areas are Bertrand Creek Dog Park, Walnut Grove Off-Leash Park, Noel Booth Community Park, Old Yale Park, Routley Park and Yorkson Community Park. Each has its own location section below. This list excludes the separate City of Langley.
Can my dog run off leash anywhere in those parks?
No. A designated off-leash area does not make the entire surrounding park off leash. Keep the lead on outside the signed area and use the mapped park location as a starting point for finding the proper entrance.
Are dogs allowed on sports fields?
No. The Township says dogs are not permitted on sports fields at any time. This applies even if a field is empty, the owner is playing fetch or the park also contains an off-leash dog area.
Dog care, licences and municipal boundaries
Are leashed dogs welcome in other Township parks?
The parks page welcomes leashed dogs in Township parks, subject to its sports-field prohibition and any site signs. Follow the signed route and avoid taking a dog onto a playing field while walking between park facilities.
Do I have to pick up dog waste?
Yes. Owners must clean up immediately and dispose of the waste properly. Bring bags rather than relying on supplies at the site. Do not leave filled bags beside a trail or at a sports-field boundary.
Does my dog need a licence to use a park?
Every Township dog needs an annual licence. The 2026 permanent tag has a changed phone number and replaces the previous tag. Keep the licence current and use the official dog-licensing service for owner or tag changes.

Maps, park conduct and reporting
Does this directory include Langley City dog parks?
No. It follows the Township's six-area list. Langley City is a separate municipality with separate parks and rules. Check the municipality of an address before using a licence office or interpreting a park's off-leash rules.
Can I smoke in an off-leash area?
No. Township parks are entirely smoke-free. The rule includes tobacco, cannabis and e-cigarettes. An outdoor dog enclosure is still part of the park and is not a smoking exception.
Do the map points guarantee a gate or washroom?
No. Each entry preserves the official park location and sourced facilities. A park centroid or address is not a promise of an accessible gate, a dog enclosure entrance or an open seasonal washroom. Check the site signs on arrival.
Where do I report a park problem?
Use the comment form linked on the Township Parks, Trails and Amenities page. Include the park name and the specific problem or damaged feature. For licence account help, use dogs@tol.ca or 604-533-6005 instead of a park maintenance report.
