The role currently provides leadership to one Safety Coordinator, with potential for additional management responsibility as the organization grows.

What You’ll Do

Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, applicable legislation, and company standards.
Lead hazard assessments, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Manage internal safety audits and support external COR audits.
Coordinate JOHSC meetings, inspections, action items, and employee safety initiatives.
Develop safety orientation, training, competency tracking, and documentation programs.
Track safety KPIs, lost-time incidents, corrective-action completion, and training compliance.
Support WorkSafeBC claims, Return-to-Work programs, and modified-duty planning.
Manage emergency preparedness, drills, evacuation procedures, and related documentation.
Coach managers, supervisors, and employees on safety responsibilities and safe work practices.
Provide leadership and development to the Safety Coordinator.

What You Bring

5+ years of progressive Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, fabrication, warehousing, or heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC requirements and claims management.
Experience with incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and analytical skills.
Post-secondary Occupational Health & Safety education preferred.
