About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator keeps our maintenance team supplied, organized, and ready to work. You'll manage spare parts and purchasing, keep our maintenance system accurate, and support our maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering projects, so that our technicians have what they need when they need it, unplanned downtime stays low, and capital and improvement projects stay on track. This is a hands-on role that splits time between the office and the plant floor, working closely with our Maintenance Technicians, Project Managers, and Manufacturing Engineering team.
What You Will Do
Spare Parts, Purchasing & Inventory
When a machine goes down, the right part needs to be on the shelf. You'll make sure it is.
- Create and process quotes and purchase orders for maintenance parts, supplies, and services.
- Work with Purchasing and suppliers to make sure parts and materials are on hand before work begins.
- Maintain critical spare parts lists and minimum/maximum inventory levels in our CMMS.
- Set up part information in the CMMS and help build out our kanban system.
- Keep the maintenance parts area and consumables cabinet organized and easy to use.
- Perform regular audits of spare parts inventory to keep CMMS records accurate.
Preventive Maintenance & Work Order Support
- Good preventive maintenance keeps breakdowns from happening in the first place. You'll help keep our program on track.
- Review upcoming preventive maintenance (PM) work and order the required parts and materials in advance.
- Process new maintenance requests and create work orders in the CMMS.
- Prepare job packages for larger repairs and projects, including the parts, materials, and resources needed.
- Enter and maintain CMMS data, including equipment assets and PM checklists.
- Track PM completion and help identify gaps in preventive maintenance, tools, equipment, spare parts, and resources, working with the Maintenance Supervisor to close them.
- Arrange vendor service for mobile equipment such as forklifts and man lifts.
Manufacturing Engineering Project Support
You'll help our project managers keep capital and improvement projects moving.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering Projects (MEP) with data entry, sourcing, procurement, and work order creation.
- Coordinate with contractors working on MEP projects.
- Help project managers build project charters and estimate labour hours and overall costs.
Reporting, Safety & Compliance
Accurate data and good records help us make better decisions and keep our plant safe and compliant.
- Track key maintenance metrics, including PM compliance, work order completion, backlog, downtime, mean time to repair (MTTR), and maintenance costs.
- Prepare regular summaries for the Maintenance Supervisor and keep maintenance data accurate.
- Support compliance with regulatory inspection requirements and maintain the related records.
- Keep maintenance records complete and audit-ready in support of our ISO 9001 quality system.
Communication & Teamwork
Maintenance works best when everyone is on the same page.
- Keep the production planning team and production departments informed of upcoming maintenance work, helping to keep disruption to the production plan to a minimum.
- Provide strong communication between maintenance and other teams, including Installations, Continuous Improvement, Automation, Purchasing, and Operations.
About You
